WP5: Socio-economic responses to changes in environmental goods and services
Context
In this work package, we will test whether endogenous factors such as scarcity of forest products and/or a decline in the flow of services provided by forest ecosystems following accelerated soil and water degradation prompt farmers to engage in forestation in the absence of significant economic growth and market integration. Community surveys based on questionnaires will be conducted in order to unravel key questions regarding drivers and feedbacks of land use dynamics.
